About sgtoilets

sgtoilets is a free, mobile-first map for finding public toilets and drinking water fountains across Singapore. It is the only directory that combines OpenStreetMap data with community-submitted pins, ratings, and accessibility notes — covering more than 870 public toilet locations across the island, from MRT stations and hawker centres to malls, parks, and government buildings.

Why we built this

Existing toilet maps for Singapore were either out of date, stuck behind paywalls, or buried inside larger tourism apps. sgtoilets gives Singaporeans, residents, and visitors a simple, fast tool to find the nearest clean toilet — including wheelchair-accessible cubicles, baby-changing rooms, and free water bottle refill points.

Where the data comes from

The base layer is OpenStreetMap, a free and open geographic database edited by hundreds of thousands of contributors worldwide. We sync a snapshot of all amenity=toilets nodes inside Singapore. On top of that, signed-in users can add their own pins, leave a 1–5 star rating, and flag pins that no longer exist. A pin flagged by two or more users within 30 days is automatically hidden until reviewed.

Frequently asked questions

Where does sgtoilets get its data?

The base map uses 871+ public toilet records from OpenStreetMap, the open geospatial database. Anyone signed in can also add new pins, rate locations, and flag inaccurate or closed toilets. Pins flagged by two or more users are automatically hidden until reviewed.

Is sgtoilets free to use?

Yes. sgtoilets is free, has no ads, and works without an account for browsing. Signing in (Google) is only required to add or rate a toilet.

How do I find a wheelchair-accessible toilet in Singapore?

OpenStreetMap pins include a wheelchair tag where contributors have noted accessibility. Tap a pin on the map to see whether wheelchair access, baby-changing facilities, or fees are recorded for that location.

Are public toilets in Singapore free?

Most public toilets in Singapore — at MRT stations, hawker centres, malls, and parks — are free. A small number of standalone facilities charge a 10–20 cent fee. Where known, this is shown on the toilet detail.

Where can I refill my water bottle in Singapore?

Toggle the water fountain layer to see drinking-water bubblers and refill points contributed by the community. Many MRT stations, parks, and SportSG facilities have free refill points.

How do I add a missing public toilet?

Sign in with Google, tap the + button, drag the map crosshair to the toilet location, and add an optional note (e.g. “2nd floor, near lift”). Your pin is published immediately.

Contribute

The map gets better the more people use it. If you spot a missing toilet or a pin that should be removed, sign in on the main map and add or flag it. For larger data corrections (e.g. a permanently closed facility), please edit the underlying node directly on OpenStreetMap so the fix benefits every map that uses OSM data.
